For some reason, seven sounds so old to me. Seven no longer feels like a little kid anymore. There’s reasoning that can happen. Explaining that can be done. There’s a larger sense of the world around us. We connect and joke on a different level. At seven, friendships have been created and half of their day is spent in a world we have no first hand experience in.
Our oldest is seven today. Jax, you are the sweetest soul. You’re an easy friend to have. You get along with everyone around you. You’re cautious and weigh out your options. You’re helpful. You’re thoughtful. You’re a leader. You’re creative. Your baby sister absolutely adores you most. You love Pokemon, Monster Jam, Sonic, Mario Party, Target, Post Malone, the NFL (pray for me on Sunday’s y’all), all things sports, video-games, Portillo’s cheese fries, Outback Steakhouse, and Buffalo Wild Wings. Your eating has already begun costing us a fortune. Your attitude is identical to mine, so we could go toe to toe for hours. You’re confident enough to speak your mind and will argue your case to the end of time. You’re afraid of failing, so you look for encouragement often. And when you finally get something, boy do you wear your pride loud and proud. We love exactly who you are, everything about you. You make us proud every single day.

The past year has brought us:
- you beginning to read independently
- chaotic levels of brotherhood- rough housing to the next degree
- a hectic schedule for baseball, soccer, floor hockey, and basketball
- Mom chaperoning a field trip of yours
- watching you become a big brother again
- your first report card with straight As (we’re beyond proud of you!)
- riding your first real roller coaster (scared out of your mind, but brave enough to do it!)
- you swimming in the pool without floaties!
- you officially riding a two-wheeler
- 3 different vacations
- room sharing with your brother
- your first Bulls game
- and lastly, a new Kansas City Chiefs fan! (much to Daddy’s despise)
Six was great, but I can only imagine seven will be even greater. We love you, bruh.

Not the โbruhโ! ๐ But tell Phil it could be the Packers ๐
I can also tell heโs your kid just by reading all his favorite foods, brings me back to our college days!
