Marketing Tips 101: Simply Showing Up Consistently

Shifting Your Social Media Mindset

I will constantly preach not to put all your eggs into one basket—yet that’s exactly what I did. For the longest time, I relied almost entirely on Instagram to carry all of my marketing. It served as my portfolio, my marketing, my business’s landing place. And while it worked to an extent, I was leaving so much opportunity on the table.

This past year, I made a shift. I started creating content across multiple platforms—Instagram, Pinterest, Facebook, TikTok, and even blogging. And when I tell you my inquiries and sales skyrocketed, I am not exaggerating.

In fact, the very same day I launched my business’s TikTok account, I received an inquiry within seven hours from that first video alone. Seven hours! I kicked myself that night thinking of all the business I had missed by waiting so long to take my old ass onto the platform.

Why We Struggle to Show Up

Here’s the truth: many of us don’t engage on social media the way we should. We post one reel and wonder why we’re not growing. We upload four carousels and then blame the algorithm when they don’t perform the way we hoped.

But the real issue? We’re not showing up consistently. And deep down, we know why.

  • We’re afraid of judgment.
  • We’re worried people we know will laugh at our “silly” reels.
  • We’re comparing our beginning to someone else’s already built success: If only my house looked like that… if only my videos were edited as well as theirs…

That mindset is holding us back more than the algorithm ever could.

The Key to Marketing Yourself

The secret to building your brand and growing your business online really is this simple: show up.

And not just once. Not just when it’s comfortable. But consistently—across the board.

Because when you stop worrying about who’s watching and start showing up for the people who need what you have to offer, that’s when things change.

So here’s your reminder: don’t wait for the “perfect” moment, the perfect setup, or the perfect edit. Show up. Today. Tomorrow. And the day after that. That’s how momentum is built, and that’s how businesses grow.
