Our Recap of 2024: Camera Roll Deep Dive

If you’re anything like me, I know the end of the year quickly approaches and I start thinking about everything I wanted to do with the kids and just didn’t get to. Between the chaotic schedules, birthing a human, and working, it felt like there was absolutely no time to do anything. Suddenly, you find yourself on social media and see all of the cutesy things the Mom next to you is doing and your hit with an immense amount of Mom guilt. So, instead of scrolling Instagram today, scroll your camera roll Mama. Take a look back on all of the amazing things you actually DID do this year- if I had to guess, you’ll find some pride in the job you’re doing!

A Look Back into Our Year

I count the smallest feats as victories around here, so between the six of us, shit- we accomplished a TON!

  • Colton started school- half day pre-school this year
  • Colton was fully potty trained before the baby’s arrival
  • He tried out gymnastics, soccer, and karate
  • He works hard every single day at controlling his big emotions
  • He is the most gentle and in love, big brother
  • Taylor performed in another dance recital and was much less shy this go
  • After a defeating first gymnastics class, she stuck it out and has learned so much since
  • She continues to do dance- ballet and tap
  • She’s in full day pre-school and absolutely crushing it
  • Taylor and I spent plenty of car rides jamming to T. Swift
  • Jaxon learned to ride a two wheeler
  • He learned to read
  • First handful of no parent play dates
  • Daddy read countless bedtime stories every single night
  • He rooted against Daddy during the Super Bowl and is now a permanent Chiefs fan
  • We traveled a TON and between us all we visited: Florida Keys, Texas, Marco Island, San Diego, Orlando, Philly, Indy, Milwaukee, Utah
  • We welcomed the most perfect baby girl into our family, Sadie James
  • All of Sadie’s firsts thus far: first smiles and giggles, being held by her older siblings, rolling and playing
  • Pushing through and breastfeeding through the exhaustion one last time to nourish my final babe
  • First year as a full time photographer and by far my most successful year yet
  • Launched the blog and our YouTube Channel
  • A 15 week paternity leave which we spent so much needed, quality time together
  • We went to the Bad Bunny concert, Usher, Matt Rife, and another at the Salt Shed that we cannot recall
  • We went to the park countless times, bike rides, walks, the water park, the zoo, Six Flags, drove around to see Christmas lights, Chuck E. Cheese, Cubs games, Bulls game, Wolves game, Busch Gardens, and likely so many more that I am forgetting
  • We continued couples therapy through August and have never had a more healthy, deeply connected relationship than we do now
  • We’re healthy and happy and full of love!

Take A Moment Today…

Truly, take a moment today to scroll your camera roll. There were so many moments that we simply forgot about. That seemed like they happened ages ago or that simply got lost in the chaos of our minds. We really all do accomplish so much throughout the year. Count the big blessings, along with the small feats. Sometimes the small feats are actually what count the most in life🤍

Thank you for being here with me all this year. Cheers to 2025. May it be our most kick-ass, successful, and full of love, years yet!
